About Me

I'm Ameer Nahas, a Cybersecurity student at the University of Texas at San Antonio, graduating in 2026. I recently completed an internship as a Network Compliance Analyst at Yahoo, where I developed automation solutions to enhance cloud security and compliance across AWS environments. I'm passionate about learning what I don't know, exploring new technologies, and finding smarter ways to secure anytype of infrastructure.

Beyond cybersecurity or so called "work", I'm all about balance and having fun. Basketball, video games, and traveling keep me doing what I love to do and staying creative. There's something about exploring different cultures and places I've never been that reminds me how big the world is, and how much there's always left to learn. I've been fortunate to work with high-level athletes, earn a Presidential Gold Service Award for community involvement, and surround myself with people who push me to grow.

At my core, I'm curious, driven, and always looking for the next challenge. No matter if thats it's securing a cloud environment, mastering a new skill, or stepping outside my comfort zone somewhere halfway across the world.

Security Operations Center (SOC) Development: Home Lab Project

Built a custom SIEM solution by integrating VM logs into Microsoft Sentinel using Azure Monitor Agent (AMA) for centralized, real-time security monitoring.
Created and tested Kusto Query Language (KQL) rules to detect unauthorized RDP sign-in attempts and trigger security alerts.
